Saw one of these the other day and loved it. The perfect amount of patina and rattyness without being murdered out. Why do I love malaise era "muscle" so much?

I honestly think it would be in mine too, I love the overlooked muscle, a coworker at an old job had a ratty old Buick of some kind, 4 door sedan but late 70s or early 80s, lowered just a bit and left alone and i loved it. Something about that style is just so mean and badass, as much as i love the more conventional 60s muscle.

Leaves it all to the overactive imagination we all have!

Ooh, with the spinning seat! My dad had one, sold it to a literal pimp.

Nice! I found another one that was donked with a candy cane interior on CL too but not really my style.

Your dad’s old car?

Nah, it would be in the Toledo area, and the guy painted it neon green and gave it zebra stripe seats.

I don’t think it was a common option, but it was available in Thunderbirds for a long time and on the GM colonnade coupes of the 70s. Plenty of others I’m sure - probably the Toronado/ Riviera?

I just saw a beautiful toronado on barn finds and now I want that lol.

CP but still a beauty.

That’s pretty. Love the color, original or not.
Not sure if that’s a CP or not. If it’s as advertised and the engine bay is clean too, that’s not too horrible - but needs to be negotiated down.

Yeah I guess I meant I would think most people would go for a mustang or Camaro or something for that much. But I’d rather have that for sure than another fake SS. My number one choice for a classic would be a 62 or 63 fairlane 500 2 door. But this would be top 5 maybe.

A neighbor of mine had a pristine black 63 Fairlane 500 coupe when I was a kid . That’s a pretty car.
I’m not a big Toro fan because FWD but I love Olds. 6 5 442 is my dream.

I absolutely love the fairlane, it’s the perfect bridge between the fins of the 50s and the body muscle of the 60s and 70s in my eyes. Wasn’t a big toronado fan before hadn’t really ever thought about them but I love t he idea of a 455 big block fwd lol and it’s a nice looking car.
But now all I can about is bullnado, some kind of awesome sharknado spinoff.

The ‘63 was probably one of the last (non-Cadillac) cars to have fins, I think?
This is a dead ringer for the one that used to be near me (granted, this was about 1982 that the neighbor had this car)

That is absolutely perfect. Dream project would be to restomod one just like that, I almost bought a ‘62 years ago but I’m glad I didn’t I would have been in way over my h ead, it was a rust bucket and i knew about 10% of w hat I know now.
